If Pookie’s Place had a Swiss Army knife, it would be Brooke. Need a cat picked up two hours away? Brooke’s driving. Vet appointment during business hours when everyone else is at work? Brooke’s there. A potential partner wants to talk logistics, funding, or “how does this whole foster thing even work?” Brooke’s the one at the table making it happen.
As one of our Directors, Brooke wears more hats than we can count — transports, assistance requests, vet visits, fostering, partnership meetings, and whatever else pops up on any given day. She’s the person we know we can hand anything to and trust it’ll get done right, no drama, no dropped balls.
Outside of rescue life, Brooke is a mom of two, a devoted wife, and — as if her plate wasn’t full enough — a nursing student working toward becoming a Nurse Practitioner. She’s passionate about health, fitness, and good nutrition, and brings that same discipline and care into everything she does for the cats. When she’s not studying or wrangling carriers, you’ll likely find her outdoors chasing the next adventure, because sitting still has just never really been her thing.
Bottom line: Pookie’s Place doesn’t run without Brooke. She’s proof that reliability is a love language.
