Every rescue needs someone who isn’t afraid to walk up to a stranger and start a conversation that changes everything — for Pookie’s Place, that’s Danny. As our Relations Coordinator, he’s the one out there building bridges: striking up partnerships, spreading the word about who we are, and making the connections that let this rescue do more than it ever could alone. Danny didn’t get pulled into rescue work — he jumped in on his own. He loves cats, and he’s passionate about making a difference for the forgotten ones: the overlooked, the hard-to-place, the ones who need someone in their corner. That passion is exactly what makes him so effective at his job — when Danny talks to people about Pookie’s Place, they can tell he actually means it. He also has a gift for talking to anyone — whether it’s a potential partner, a local business, or someone who’s never heard of Pookie’s Place until that very conversation. That mix of heart and confidence is exactly why so many of our partnerships exist in the first place. Outside of rescue work, Danny is a Data Analyst in the medical field and an avid traveler always looking for the next destination. He’s also married to our Founding Executive Director, Sarah Johns — so you could say his commitment to Pookie’s Place runs pretty deep.
